We set up our in-house insights and engagement team a year ago and the outstanding work they’re doing is already being recognised – winning PR Moment’s Community Engagement Campaign of the year for our Sound campaign with Welsh Government.
The campaign was awarded gold, with the judges describing it as a “campaign that sensitively and effectively tackles a difficult taboo subject, with excellent evaluation, where results and objectives are clearly linked.”
Sound is a bilingual, anti-violence platform for young men, saying no to violence against women and girls.
Our Communities Manager, Tahnee, has led on the engagement work for the campaign.
She said: “It’s absolutely amazing for this campaign, and our community first engagement approach to be recognised with this award.
“Developing Sound has positively transformed the way we think about all our engagement work, and we look forward to continuing our work with the Sound Squad throughout 2024.”
“A campaign that sensitively and effectively tackles a difficult taboo subject, with excellent evaluation, where results and objectives are clearly linked.”

Campaign Director, Beth, said: “Tackling perpetration and prioritising early intervention is a fundamental principle of the public health approach to reducing violence against women in Wales.
“This campaign provides education and support to divert potential perpetrators away from the risk they pose to others. Interventions developed in partnership with communities are proven to be much more effective and it is imperative to work with men from a variety of backgrounds to co-develop solutions to gender-based violence.
“We’re delighted the project has been recognised as best practice for co-production and audience engagement.”
