Celebrating the Welsh Music Prize with high quality coverage

To orchestrate press announcements, support on social media, manage media relations and secure high quality coverage for the Welsh Music Prize 2016.

What we did:

  • Issued press releases announcing the judging panel and 12 shortlisted artists and bands.
  • Approached 12 media outlets offering them one artist or band to announce each.
  • Supported social media on the shortlist announcement day.
  • Responsible for media accreditation in the weeks leading up to the ceremony, sending invites and managing interview requests.
  • Issued a winner’s press release.

Results:

  • Maintained momentum on the shortlist announcement day and kept the shortlist reveal at the forefront of social media conversation.
  • Secured 49 pieces of coverage, including 13 pieces of broadcast coverage.
  • 57 press contacts attended the prize ceremony with 12 interviews carried out on the night.
